Proverbs 12:22 “Truth”

God is True

Truth does not exist apart from God.

Because God is truth, His Word is truth.

God is not capable of lying (Hebrews 6:18).

No Lies

Lies ignore the reality of who God is.

Lies are tied to hatred, injustice, fading, and perishing.

We cannot expect good from living in what God hates.

The Truth

When we speak the truth, we are speaking God’s language.

In truth, we never have to fear.

The choice between truth and lies is between abomination and delight.

Proverbs

12:22 - Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight

26:28 - A lying tongue hates its victims

24:28 - Be not a witness against your neighbor without cause, and do not deceive with your lips

12:19 - Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

19:9 - A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will perish

14:25 - A truthful witness saves lives
